Course for workers in the telecommunications and broadcast industry providing the knowledge, understanding and practical skills to work safely on towers and masts.

During training you will be instructed in the safe use of pfpe used whilst climbing, the operation of permanently installed fixed safety systems and additional fall prevention equipment.

Full Body Harnesses, Anchor devices (Wire Strop, ATSL, HSL, etc), Double Legged Fall Arrest Lanyards, Fall Arrest Blocks, Permanently Guided Typed Fall Arresters, Temporary Guided Type Fall Arresters, Work Position Lanyard and Harness, Rescue Demo Kit (SHARK) and Telecoms Rescue Kit


What is the duration of the course?

The optimum ‘contact time’ for this training programme is seen as 24 hours over 3 days.

What are the entry requirements?

Delegates must be 18 years and over.

All delegates must be able to certify they are physically fit and have no medical conditions that might prevent them working at height prior to commencement of training.

What does the course cover?

This SPANSET UK Approved - Telecoms Tower Climbing & Rescue training is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge, understanding & practical skills to ensure individuals safety whilst working on towers & masts in the telecommunications and broadcast industry.

During the SPANSET UK Approved - Telecoms Tower Climbing & Rescue training course you will be instructed in the safe use of personal fall protection equipment used whilst climbing, the operation of permanently installed fixed safety systems and additional fall prevention equipment.

It’s also a requirement that when working on telecoms towers and masts, that persons are competent in the use of rescue equipment to enable the recovery of an injured colleague. The SPANSET UK Approved - Telecoms Tower Climbing & Rescue course covers rescue form towers mast and structures using the SpanSet SHARK rescue kit, but alternative equipment can be included if advised.
