A range of fall protection equipment will be used during the course, this includes:
- Full Body Harnesses

- Fall Arrest Blocks / Retractable Type Fall Arrest Device
- Guided Type Fall Arrester
- Gotcha Suspension Loop
- Gotcha Rescue Kit
- Grabba – additional rescue attachment
What is the duration of the course?
The optimum ‘contact time’ for this training programme is seen as 8 hours over 1 day.

What does the course cover?
SpanSet UK Height Safety Module 1 & 5C from SpanSets range of height safety modular training courses.
The combination of modules is
designed to make operatives fully conversant in the operation of the Gotcha Rescue Kit and it’s various modes of use.
The course will enable operatives to;
1. Use the rescue kit in a variety of modes to rescue a casualty from a fall from a platform.

The learning outcomes for this course are specified below
To successfully complete the Training Programme, learners must be able to:
1. Understand the legislation surrounding work at height and how this relates to them.
2. Understand the categories for safe work at height and the potential loads imposed on the equipment used.
3. Explain a Work Restraint System and it’s potential use.
4. Explain a Work Position System and it’s potential use.
5. Explain a Fall Arrest System and it’s potential use.
6. Understand equipment standards and how they relate to user demands and their expectation.s
7. Understand he importance of pre use inspections and checks.
8. Be able to perform a pre-use inspection of a harness, lanyard and connectors.
9. Be able to perform pre-use checks of the GOTCHA Kit.
10. Be able to conduct a rescue of a casualty from a raised platform, using a high anchor point.
10. Be able to conduct a rescue of a casualty from a raised platform, using a low anchor point.
How is the course assessed?
The SpanSet UK Approved Rescue From Height (GOTCHA) is assessed through a course that involves both theoretical and practical training. The course is divided into two sessions:
The morning session focuses on safety harness theory training, which includes a pre-use inspection.
The afternoon session involves practical training with the Gotcha Rescue Kit. Delegates can progress to this session after successfully completing the morning session.
